What is Caregiver Burnout?
Caregiver Burnout is caused by too much long term stress. It occurs when you feel overwhelmed and unable to meet constant demands of everyday life. You begin to lose interest or motivation, the feeling of doing the “right thing” that led you to take on the job of caregiving. Your healthy body, mind and spirit benefit your loved one just as they benefit you. Learn the signs of Caregiver Burnout and let us help you if you are experiencing signs!
-Is there a constant worry about your mom/dad/loved one’s daily living activities?
-I know they can live alone, but when do I know they can’t be left alone?
-Do they wander about, converse in confusion, or seem lonely?
-How is their mobility without assistance? Have there been falls?
-Could there be some level of moderate to severe Dementia?
-Is medication being taken daily as scheduled?
-How are their eating habits? Are they eating daily?
These are typical things that can move a senior from “can’t live alone” to “can’t be alone.” If you’ve answered yes to 2 or more of these questions, please allow us to relieve Caregiver Burnout.
